Use this report to find employees who still need to complete learning after its deadline has passed. You can review overdue courses, learning paths or individual path tasks. Learning without a deadline is not considered overdue.

How do you open the report and find the data you need?

  1. Open Reports and statistics → Learning progress.

  2. Choose Courses or Learning paths, then the Overdue learning report. On a small screen, select the report view from the list that replaces the horizontal tabs.

  3. To check a particular employee, use the search field. For a more specific selection, expand Filters: you can choose the learning, department, job title and date range.

  4. Fill in the fields you need. The report updates automatically. To remove one filter, remove its label; to start a new selection, reset all filters.

The date range in this report applies to learning deadlines. The results include unfinished learning whose deadline has passed and falls within the selected range.

Administrators can see all company data. Managers see only employees in the departments they have access to. For Managers, the same restriction applies to the details window and the Excel file.

What do the figures above the table mean?

Indicator Meaning and calculation
Overdue courses / learning paths / tasks The number of unfinished courses, learning paths or tasks whose deadline has passed. The label depends on the selected view. Each assignment to an employee counts separately.
Employees with overdue learning The number of employees with overdue learning in the filtered report. Each employee counts once, even if they have several overdue assignments.
Average days overdue Shows how many days learning is overdue on average. Formula: sum of days overdue ÷ number of overdue records.
Maximum days overdue Shows the largest number of days overdue among the records in the report.

For example, assignments overdue by 1, 3 and 8 days have an average of 4 days overdue. The maximum in this example is 8 days. The calculations use calendar days.

The figures reflect the selected filters and include records across every page of the table. Moving to another page does not change the totals. If the report has no overdue records, an average is not calculated.

How do the course and learning-path views differ?

In the course report, each assignment counts separately. If the same course is overdue in three learning paths for one employee, the report shows three overdue assignments.

In the learning-path report, choose Whole learning to review overdue paths or Path tasks to review their overdue tasks. A path’s overall deadline and a task’s deadline can differ. In the task view, you can also select a material type to narrow the results.

What should you check, and what can you do about overdue learning?

Open Details to check the deadline, access to learning and completion of required tasks.

If a deadline is eligible for a change, an Administrator can extend it and give a reason. Managers can review the data but cannot extend deadlines. The completion deadline and the period of access are changed separately.

If an employee has already completed learning late, you can check that completion in Completion history. The overdue report includes learning that is still unfinished.

How do you download the report in Excel?

Choose the filters you need and select Export to Excel. The file includes every record matching your filters and permissions, including rows on other pages of the table.

The Report sheet contains the report data. The Filters sheet lets you check the parameters used to select it.

What do the Excel columns mean?

The base columns match those in the Learning progress export. You can find detailed explanations in the related guide to that report.

Column Meaning
Learning The title of the learning that is overdue.
In a learning path The learning path that contains the course or task.
Deadline The date by which the employee should have completed the learning.
Days overdue The number of calendar days this record is overdue.
Completed mandatory; Total mandatory These columns appear in learning-path exports. They show how many required tasks are complete and how many there are in total.

In the task view, a row describes an overdue path task. It should not be counted as another assignment of the whole learning path.

If no completion date is known, the corresponding cell is empty.
